Subway robbery reported downtown

A man in his 20s robbed a Subway store downtown Saturday night, San Diego police said.

The man, described as white, in his 20s, 5 feet 11 inches and 160 pounds, displayed a handgun to a clerk at the Subway in the 1100 block of Sixth Avenue about midnight, watch commander Ben Newton said.

The suspect demanded money and the clerk gave him an unknown amount before he fled eastbound on C Street.

The suspect was described as wearing a blue hoodie and light-colored pants.
