Simon Cowell organizes charity single after Grenfell Tower fire

Britain’s brightest stars joined forces over the weekend for a charity song to support the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire.

Simon Cowell organized musicians including Louis Tomlinson and Roger Daltrey for a cover of the Simon and Garfunkel classic “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”

All proceeds from the song will go to the victims of the June 14 fire that gutted a 24-story apartment building.

“Until that last note has been finished, we will not be off the phone,” Cowell told The Sun about collecting talent for the song.

Other performers include James Blunt, Lily Allen, Leona Lewis, Stormzy, Robbie Williams, Craig David and Pixie Lott.

Rita Ora, who grew up near Grenfell Tower, will also be featured on the song.

At least 58 people died in the building fire.

Prime Minister Theresa May announced that all families that were displaced would receive a stipend of about $7,000.

In 2010, Cowell also organized a charity single for the victims of the Haiti earthquake, with musical contributions from Mariah Carey, Kylie Minogue and Rod Stewart.
