SEE IT: Overturned truck catches fire on New Jersey Turnpike

An overturned tractor trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike Sunday caught on fire and snarled northbound traffic near Trenton for an hour.

The truck hauling liquid asphalt crashed onto its side and became engulfed in flames just before noon, a State Police spokesman said.

Black smoke billowed into the air as firefighters fought a blaze from the truck, video shot by Matt Costantini from an overpass in Hamilton Township showed.

The driver escaped unharmed and no others were injured. All northbound traffic in the area was diverted off of the Turnpike for roughly an hour.
