OAKLAND — Cornerback Sean Smith is among the Raiders’ seven inactive players for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.
Other inactive players for Raiders are quarterback Connor Cook, defensive back Keith McGill II, fullback Jamize Olawale, offensive tackles Jylan Ware and David Sharpe and defensive tackle Darius Latham.
Smith, along with Olawale and McGill, was listed as questionable prior to Sunday’s game. He did not practice Thursday with a neck problem and was limited on Friday when he did practice.
Smith’s absence could mean a larger role for rookie Gareon Conley, who is making his NFL debut. Conley, the Raiders’ first round pick this spring, missed last Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans as he continued to recover from a shin injury that had sidelined him since June’s minicamp.
T.J. Carrie will start at right cornerback, the only lineup change for the Raiders.
