East County youngsters now can sign up to play ball next spring in the Delta Baseball and Softball League.
All ages are invited to register for the league’s non-competitive softball and baseball divisions; competition baseball is open to ages 9-12. The league also has a coed division for young people ages 4 to 21 who have physical or mental disabilities; they can play for free.
The registration fees for non-competitive play range from $125 for 4- to 5-year-old girls and boys to $200 for boys ages 8 to 9 and girls ages 9 to 10.
Fees in the competitive divisions are $230.
Signups currently are taking place online at www.deltabaseballleague.com; parents who register their child before Dec. 1 will receive a 10 percent discount on the registration fees. Dates for in-person registration will be announced later.
Players will receive a uniform — shirt, cap, pants, belt and socks. In addition to regular practices, participants will play at least 12 games during the season, which starts in mid-February and ends in early June.
All games take place at the Antioch Youth Sports Complex, 1037 Apollo Court, Antioch. Practices will be at various locations depending on the availability of fields.
Practice locations vary based on field availability.
The league is a nonprofit and all-volunteer organization that teaches the sport and emphasizes sportsmanship
