An Oceanside police officer was flown to a hospital after being struck by a vehicle during a traffic stop Monday morning, a police spokesman said.
The motor officer had stopped a vehicle on Oceanside Boulevard near Foussat Road when the crash happened about 10:40 a.m., police spokesman Tom Bussey said. The vehicle that struck him stopped after the collision.
The injured officer was taken to a hospital in a helicopter. He was conscious and breathing at the time, Bussey said.
