None hurt in one-alarm Martinez fire

MARTINEZ — Fire investigators are looking at the cause of a one-alarm fire Sunday evening, authorities said.

At 7:15 p.m., firefighters responded to reports of flames at a residence in the 400 block of Holiday Hills Drive, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District battalion chief Capt. Lisa Martinez said.

The exterior fire, which appeared to begin under an apartment stairwell, did not enter the building and was knocked down by 7:40 p.m., she said.

No immediate cause or estimate of damages was immediately available, and the property owners did not appear to be home at the time of the fire.
