RICHMOND — A man died after being found shot inside a car early Sunday, authorities said.
Details about the city’s seventh homicide of the year were sketchy because of the investigation. Richmond police spokesman Lt. Felix Tan said officers responded to a shot-spotter activation around 2 a.m. Sunday in the area of Elgin Avenue and 5th Street in the city’s Iron Triangle.
They found a man in his 20s in a car bleeding from at least one gunshot wound, Tan said. After being shot the man had apparently crashed the car into another parked vehicle, which didn’t have anyone inside.
Police suspect the man was driving at one point but did not say whether he was shot while behind the wheel.
Police have not identified any suspects, nor did they immediately reveal a motive.
