A Temecula man died Saturday night in Fallbrook when his BMW M6 veered off a winding road and part of a fence he hit went through the windshield, California Highway Patrol said.
The name of the 38-year-old man, who died at the scene, was not released.
He was driving west on Via Monserate near La Canada Road around 7:27 p.m. when the BMW left the road, hit a wood fence, and a portion of the fence broke through the windshield and struck the man in the chest, officers said.
Officers did not say if the man was speeding, but did say it did not appear he was intoxicated. The incident is still under investigation.
